Sign
Sign lets you send documents for electronic signature and sign documents yourself — no printing, scanning, or third-party e-signature subscription required.
Overview
Sign is powered by DocuSeal, an open-source e-signature tool that works like DocuSign or HelloSign. You upload a document (a contract, offer letter, NDA, or any PDF that needs a signature), mark where signatures, dates, and other fields go, and send it to one or more recipients. They receive a link, review the document, and sign it electronically — no account or software installation required on their end.
Every signed document produces a legally-binding audit trail: who signed, when, and from what IP address, bundled into the final signed PDF. Sign lives at {tenant}.pacehq.io/sign, and your Pace SSO login gets you straight in.
Sign is a good fit for routine paperwork — vendor agreements, employee onboarding forms, simple contracts — where you need a clean, trackable signature without paying for a separate e-signature subscription.
First-run walkthrough
-
Open Sign from your dashboard. Log in to Pace and click the Sign tile.

Upload your first document. Click New Document (or "Upload Template") and choose a PDF or Word file from your computer.

Add fields. Use the editor to drag signature, initial, date, and text fields onto the document where you need the recipient to fill them in.

-
Track status. Return to the Sign dashboard to see whether the document is pending, viewed, or completed. You'll also get a notification once it's fully signed.

Common tasks
- Send a document for signature. Upload the file, place the required fields, enter the recipient's email, and send. You can add multiple signers if more than one person needs to sign.
- Sign a document yourself. If you're a signer on an incoming document, open the emailed link (or find it under "Documents to sign" in your Sign dashboard), review the content, and click each highlighted field to add your signature or initials.
- Save a reusable template. If you send the same type of document often (like an NDA), save it as a template after placing fields once, so future sends skip the setup step.
- Download a completed, signed PDF. Once all parties have signed, open the document and click Download to get a final PDF with the signatures and audit trail embedded.
- Send a reminder. If a recipient hasn't signed yet, open the pending document and click Send Reminder to re-notify them by email.
Troubleshooting
- The Sign tile won't load or is missing. Sign may not be enabled for your company's plan tier — check with your Pace admin, who can enable it from the Admin panel.
- My recipient says they never got the email. Ask them to check spam/junk folders. If it's still missing, resend from the document's status page — the "Send Reminder" action generates a fresh email.
- A signed field looks wrong or is missing on the final PDF. This usually means a required field wasn't filled in before the signer submitted. Recall the document (if not yet fully signed) and re-check field placement, or send a corrected version.
- The recipient can't open the signing link. Signing links expire after a period of inactivity for security. Send a new document or use "Send Reminder" to issue a fresh, valid link.
- I need to cancel a document that's already sent. Open the document from your Sign dashboard and choose "Void" or "Cancel" (before it's fully signed) to invalidate the outstanding signature request.
